NGK D8EA Nickel Spark Plug

The NGK D8EA is a standard nickel-alloy spark plug, built to original-equipment standards. A V-groove in the centre electrode helps the spark form at the edge for easier starting and smoother idling. It has a 12mm thread, 19mm reach, 18mm hex, 0.7mm gap and heat range 8. It comes pre-gapped and is sold individually – order one per cylinder. Choose by part number: match the code printed on your old plug, the plug listed in your owner's manual or service book, or NGK's own part finder.

How do I know this is the right plug?

Match the NGK part number on your existing plugs, in your owner's manual or service book, or from NGK's part finder. Don't change to a different heat range unless an engine specialist advises it. Add your vehicle when you order – we check it against NGK's official application data before your order is sent.

Do I need to re-gap it?

No – it comes pre-gapped to 0.7mm. Check the gap if it has been dropped, but don't try to adjust fine iridium or platinum tips.

How many do I need?

One per cylinder – most 4-cylinder engines need 4, V6 engines 6 and V8s 8 (some older engines use two plugs per cylinder).
