Hand & Service Tools FAQs
6-point or 12-point sockets?
6-point sockets grip the flats of a nut and are less likely to round it off, so they're the better all-round choice for car work.
Do I really need a torque wrench?
Yes for wheel nuts, sump plugs, spark plugs and suspension parts – over- or under-tightening can strip threads or let parts come loose.
