The Autolite 85 is a copper core spark plug. The full copper core centre electrode draws heat away quickly for dependable performance in all operating conditions, and a copper-glass seal bonds the insulator and centre post for a leak-proof seal and full voltage at the gap. The Autolite 85 has a 14mm × 1.25 thread, 3/8" reach, 13/16" (21mm) hex and a listed gap of 0.9mm. Autolite plugs must be gapped before installation: check and set the gap to your engine's specification. Sold individually – order one per cylinder. Choose by part number: match the code on your old plugs, your owner's manual or Autolite's part finder.

FAQs

How do I know this is the right plug?

Match the Autolite part number on your existing plugs, in your owner's manual or from Autolite's official part finder. Keep to the plug your engine specifies – don't change heat range or reach. Add your vehicle when you order and we'll check it against Autolite's official application data before your order is sent.

Is there an NGK equivalent?

NGK's published cross-reference lists the Autolite 85 against NGK BP5S. Always confirm against your vehicle's specified plug.

Do I need to set the gap?

Yes. Autolite states these plugs must be gapped before installation. Check the gap your engine needs (owner's manual or workshop manual) and adjust it with a proper gap tool.

How many do I need?

One per cylinder – most 4-cylinder engines need 4, V6 engines 6 and V8s 8.

Delivery: Dispatched in 1–3 business days; NZ delivery usually 2–7 business days after dispatch. Prices are in NZD and include GST.
